Palisades

This Custom Home was a Dream Location, along the River and Midway between Loveland and Estes Park.

Built back in 1982, the design was inspired by the Beautiful Wooded Surroundings of the River bend. Oriented to face East and just across from Palisade Mountain. The original Home was 2 Story, Vaulted Ceilings on the Main level with an Entire wall of East facing Windows. The Deck was modest, compared to today, but allowed for 2 entrance ways from the Cedar Wood Deck and staircase. The basement was unfinished.

Originally There were 2 Wood Burning Fireplaces and baseboard Heat system. There was no A/C. The Mountains and River do keep the Area Mildly Cool, all year round.

Aitken Exterior
Lower Level

The Home was built by the Aitkens. They had owned a few of the Snowy View Parcels throughout the early Years and settled on this Lot, tucked in at the base of Sheep Mountain and surrounded by Native Trees.

Main Level Vaulted Ceilings

The Danielsons purchased this Home with its 38 Acres in 1997.

They installed the now present Railing around the exterior Deck along with a retaining Wall and a few other embellishments.

Between the Palisade Home and New Garage an extension from the Upper Deck to the 2nd Floor Loft area an Overhead Deck Walkway was Installed.

How could this be made even Better?

A Completely Unique Hand Stack Waterfall using Boulders and Rocks from Behind the Palisade Home.

A Playhouse that uses the same Building products as the Main Home
Each Home has Individual Hand Pump for Easy Access Water

The Driveway was widened to accommodate all of the Trailers and Equipment used at A Riverside Resort

What more could we do? So an extra tall Fence and Basketball Net was added to the many Amenities available at The Resort.

Historical Information and the many transfers of ownership, over the last 100 years, have made it a difficult task to discover WHO actually built this Home.

Riverview New Deck Installed after Renovations

The Original Riverview Home was built sometime in the 1930. When it was acquired by the Danielsons in 1997 it was in a very neglectful State.

Renovations took over 3 Years and the Persistant Dedication of the Danielson Family. Keeping the Original Footprint but changing the Entrance location, adding numerous windows and also Installing a Central Furnace and A//C system were just some of the Improvements made on this Riverside Home.

The Garage was renovated but the Original Charm was retained.

Once the Home was Completed it just needed the Added touch of a Wrap around Deck for Outside Entertaining and a True Riverside experience.

Skylights were added for that extra Mountain Sunshine

A septic system add on makes this Home maintainable for many years to come

Bears Den

Etta & Herbert Salsbury purchased this Raw Land in 1917. In 1926 they Built The Home, Retaining Wall, Drain Ditch and 2 Outdoor Privies. There is no record of the Glorious Root Cellar, but we can say that they also built this to store their foods.
We know that Etta retained ownership of the Home at least until 1976.

It has Retained all of its original Charm

The exterior of this Homes Exterior is a Custom Wood and Cinder Block Design

There is a Bears Den up on the Eastern Slope of the Mountain

After Acquiring the Home, the Danielsons have made some minor interior improvements, rebuilt and moved the 2 person outdoor Privy and restored the original Root Cellar to amazing Useable Condition.

Exterior Planter Boxes were rebuilt and additionals installed. The Home has been well cared for and routine maintenance kept up.
